Happy!

Here’s a quick list of things that are making me happy lately.

1.  This child:

Little P on ChairI love him more than I ever expected to be able to love a child.

Little PBecause of that, I’m kind of nervous to have children of my own.  I mean, what if I never do love my own kids as much as I love my sister’s little boy?  That would be a little awkward.

2.  That child’s little flat (and filthy) feet.

Flat-footed toddlerI have always thought flat feet were awesome.  In miniature, they’re even better (as is the case with most things in life).

3.  www.smartcanucks.ca

www.smartcanucks.caThis is an awesome website (for Canadians only—sorry, Americans! {but not that sorry, because HELLO, you guys get way more deals than Canadians do [the price of cheese alone up here is enough to make me gag every time I go to Costco]}) that announces any and every smashing good deal in the country.  There’s also some cool forums, like coupon deals, brag sections, and company reviews.  If you’re living in Canada, you shouldn’t be going a day without checking this website.

4.  Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet HomeI know, everybody who’s anyone probably already knows about this website.  I discovered it last month, and my Google Reader has been overflowing ever since.  These guys update pictures of inspiring home decor and architecture, and they do it all day.  Every day.  It’s exhausting, and I’ve been guilty of “marking all as read” on more than one occasion, but…I’ve also got a huge file of style inspirations growing bigger by the minute.  Check it out!

5.  This blog.  Specifically, this post.

lighthouseThese guys (a young married couple) are living one of my dream lives (I have, like, twenty dream lives).  They up and moved to Boston.  Boston!  Just like that!  And for fun, they take little day trips to, oh, you know, Maine.  For fresh seafood.  *Sigh*

Also, they did an awkward vintage photo shoot together before leaving Arizona.  Because those adorable ’40s and ’50s vintage photos are becoming way too trendy.  I love that.

Wanna hear a funny story?  I saw (and sort of met) M at the United Blog Order gathering back in May, but she came to meet the other blogger hostess, not me; plus, she was so pretty, I decided she was much too cool for me, and didn’t even say hi.  How lame is that? As soon as I got home, I read her blog, decided she was cool, and begged her to be my friend.

Well, that’s all I’ve got time for today (we’re off on a day trip adventure), but I’ve enjoyed this journey into the happy things I’ve found online lately.  I’ll probably do it again soon.

And by all means, if there’s something interesting online you think I’d like to know about, do tell.

I didn’t know about Home sweet Home..
I know I’d love it.. But I can’t even make it to my friends blogs daily… Drat. Such is my life. Good Happy Things!

I love “THIS CHILD” too and I need him in my life. His mommy can stay in Canada until the queen comes but I desperately need the slimy, slobbery kisses and short (but sweet) hiugs he willingly gives. It;s time for hime to come home and see his Granmama. That would make me happy.

The other thing I am happy about is that I got some jolly good deals at CVS this morning and that Kyrie came to help me clean my house and cheer me in the dog days of summer.
Also—my hubby got a new shift. He’ll be working from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. He’ll be out of the sun and it should be easier work on his aged body. He hasn’t worked graveyard for 10 years but he’ll have every evening with me (until 8:30) and he has off all day Sat. and Sunday. It may just be a good deal. Vamos a ver.

If you ever do get a chance to live in Boston for even a month of your life I would absolutely recommend it. I spent 5 years of college there and I absolutely loved it. Even when I graduated I couldn’t bring myself to leave it completely behind so I only moved an hour North away (which may as well be another world). So I know all about little New England day trips.

Mind you I’m from the Great Lakes area and not Arizona, so I can’t even imagine the difference they are experiencing.

Oh and your nephew is evil cute, evil I tell you.

Nubble Light!! I love love love that light house! I’ve been going there since I was just a baby. It’s about a 40 min drive from my house. That spot is always my first answer if I’m asked where my favorite place to go is.

  5. I definitely have no doubt you will love your own children just as much as that child. I love my daughter far more than I have any other kid, and I used to really think my first nephew was the “bees knees”.

Angela has that same fear… because Clara is AWESOME. But, I promise it will all change when you have your own. My brother (well I guess you know Kathryn, his wife) had twin girls six months before I had Clara and I loved holding them. I adored them, but once I had Clara, everything changed. I still loved and adored them, but with a love and adoration that isn’t quite the same as from a mother.

“That Child” is definately worth it!
    He’s PRECIOUS!!
And after seeing my nieces and nephew, I don’t apply that word lightly.

  8. Rachel says:

hee hee. I think your future kids are safe from not being loved as much as their cousin. In fact, I don’t think, I KNOW.

  9. Jethro says:

  10. Chloe says:

I’m sure you’ll love your kids as much as your nephew. :) You’ll be a great mom!
    I’m glad you are happy!

Camille, your post brought a big literal smile to my face. What a kind shout out! I’ll have to keep posting more pictures so that you can experience how awesome it is out here…just as long as you promise to keep doing posts about Canada because I LOVE it.

Also, I’ve never read Home Sweet Home, I will definitely have to check it out now.
