How to Use a Neti Pot

What is a Neti pot? How do I use a Neti pot? Why should I use a Neti pot?

Sadly, I can’t answer any of these arguably valid questions, but I can show you what happened when I tried to.

If nothing else it might make you smile.

Now if only smiling could cure that runny nose of yours.

Ha gross! I love my neti pot! I use it almost every day! Did you hear about the lady from somewhere in the Midwest who used tap water in her neti pot and got an amoeba in her brain?

You are one brave girl to video tape the use of the neti pot! I have had many, many sinus issues for many years (most recently had sinus surgery in April). My doctors have me use a product called the Sinus Rinse. It’s made by the same company that makes the neti pot you have, but it’s a squeeze bottle. It makes a huge difference. I affectionately call it my snot rocket. I like it because I can sanitize it in the microwave and I know that it takes exactly 24 seconds to get the perfect temperature (always use distilled water). Good to see you back around the blogosphere. Happy breathing!

My family also uses the Sinus Rinse however, I cannot bring myself to ever use it. On the mission, the doc in the CTM (in Brazil) told us to just fill our hand with water and suck it up one nostril. I tried and man, was that the most uncomfortable thing in the world. I could never get what was sucked up to drain out…

I didn’t know that thing existed!
    I haven’s seen that in Spain…

  7. I’ve heard neti pots are great, many of my family members swear by them too! Just be careful with the water you are using:

  8. I’ve heard about them but never used one myself! Maybe I’ll give it a try. Now that I know how to, and all. Thanks for sharing :)

I can’t hear what you’re saying even though the volume is turned up all the way. Subtitles?

I thought you were going to demonstrate something like a bidet. I must admit, I was a little nervous. I have a nasal issue that won’t go away and my be investing in this if my Essential Oils don’t do the trick. Best snot-sucking-out wishes.
