This Just In!

Spotted on the cover of this week’s People Magazine while waiting in line to purchase yet another twelve-pack of DDP at the Mayberry Mercantile…

…someone finally fixed mother-of-nineteen Jichelle Duggar’s bangs.

And thank goodness.

    I second that emotion.

  2. ready for more?!! is that a joke?

(sorry. i’m all for big families, and i know it’s not reallly my business… but that sort of makes me mad.)

Glory be!!!?? This is BIG news!!! Her hair is so much more THIS century now. Whew. So what, when she gets knocked up again, will that be her 20th or 21st? Better her than me, that’s what I say.

  4. My parents have 19 kids. My baby will be the 28th grandchild. I found the assessment of such a family in your 2008 post and the comments…interesting. Actually, I laughed at someone who wondered what a man could do to support his family. Answer: work hard and be a smart money manager. But then, a lot of smaller families have that lesson to learn as well.

I’ve noticed recently that my mom has been wearing a hair piece. What we have done to that poor woman….

I, too, saw the article in People magazine. I’m flabbergasted. I have such mixed emotions on this. I will hand it to them for supporting themselves on their own (kind of), unlike Octomom. I do worry about the older kids being expected to take on so much, though. I’m all for teaching kids responsibility, but it seems unfair to ask a 16 year-old to be in charge of a 3 year-old constantly. Also, I worry about the kids being neglected. I don’t mean physically, but rather emotionally. How can the parents possibly give all the children all the attention that they need? I’ve questioned having as many as 6 because I worry that I won’t be able to give enough time and attention to that many. I can’t even imagine multiplying that number by (more than) 3!!!

I think I need a before and after shot to do a true comparison of her mall bangs….

  7. Katy says:

Oh… her bangs. I thought SHE got fixed.

  8. Katie says:

I laughed SO hard when I read this post…Thanks! I needed that on a Tuesday morning!

  9. DeAnna says:

Those bangs are a zillion times better!

And as for the “Ready For More”..seriously taking the responsible route and stopping when your body cannot take it anymore would be an understatement here.

I really disagree with her attitude of if God wants me to have more children then we will…when SHE is the ONE who makes the decision to NOT use birth control and to sleep with her hubby. Honestly people! Maybe I just take these things too seriously. I personally know people with nearly that many siblings in their family and some of the children suffered emotionally/socially because of it.

  10. Whitney says:

Praise be! May the person who performed this act go right to the celestial kingdom.

  11. Dutch girl says:

I think “bangs” is such a strange word.. I learnt it when I lived in the US, but when I moved to the UK I discovered they call it “fringe” here. Confusing..
This family totally freaks me out btw.

Thank you for making me laugh out loud.
