Final Entry (does that make them the finalists?)

Okay, I’m done after this.  If any of you have cute kids that did not get the screen time they deserved…sorry.  Should’ve entered sooner.

That said, I can assure you I won’t host another one of these parties for a long time (or until the next my nephew strikes me as the most awe-inspiring child on the planet).  I had a brief mental lapse of kidfulness, but I’m back to normal now.  This womb is closed for business.

That said, I’m glad we can end on a bright note (oh, what am I saying?  All the entries have been bright notes!).

Carmen wanted her kids to see and be seen in the cute-kid contest.  She writes:

So I thought we have waited long enough and would put an end to the contest by submitting our kids since no entries can top these two cuties :)

Cocky, Carmen.  But I guess that’s part of being a mom.

IMG_4120Cute, indeed.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this spur-of-the-moment event.  I’ve had fun moderating the entries.  I feel like it’s made my blog a happy, cheerful, fluffy-clouds-and-rainbows kind of place for the weekend.  And although I am a sarcastical cynic by nature, it’s nevertheless fun to be a little bit peppy every now and then.  (By the way, sarcastical is not a word.  Well, it wasn’t…until I made it so.)

Now, I bid you all farewell.  I’m off to empty my desktop’s trash can of about 30 kajillion baby pictures.  If my laptop were to get seized and searched right now, it would probably look like I’m a creepy internet kid stalker.  Must…destroy…the evidence.

Contestsant #1,000

Lindsay did not want her adorable little brother to be left out of the cute-kid competition. She writes:

One of the first things that attracted me to my husband was that he immediately took to my youngest brother, Kevin, and treated him like any other stinky little boy. He’d wrestle with him and toss around a ball, or get after him when he did something naughty. It was so nice to see someone not be nervous or awkward around him, or thinking they could “catch” what Kevin has. I think it takes a special kind of person to get to know and love special needs kids; to see past all their distinguishable facial features and realize that they’re just crazy cute little kids too.

2010_05300007Kevin is in a class all his own…
but for chubby booger-faced Down’s Syndrome boys, I think he’d take the cake.
Then eat it.

Right you are, Lindsay.  Thanks for sharing!

Contestants #Who’s Counting?

This just in from Kristy, who doesn’t want her children to be left out of the cute kid comparison.  Kristy writes:

Ok Camille, I can’t just see all these baby pictures without putting mine on.  But I want to be different and make it a video.  So if you want to put it up I’ll send you an embedding link to add.

I do want to put it up, Kristy…  {As an aside, it’s not too late to enter your own submissions.  I’ll do this all weekend, if I have to.  I’m in just the right mood for it.}

Two More Contestants

Another Rachel wanted a piece of the cute-kid action, even though, she observed, no college tuition has been offered as a reward for the winner.  I told her that if I had enough money for college tuition, I’d use it for my own self, since school is starting in less than a week (horrors!).  Plus, if it was a true competition with a good grand prize, I would rig the votes so that my nephew won.  I have no morals.

Anyway, Rachel writes:

Can I get in on the Cutest Kid voting, in the just turned 2 (Lillian) and almost 4 (Elizabeth) categories?  Those are some darn cute little ones you’re featuring, and I’d like to splash my own super cutie pies all over your site.  Obviously I’m not one of those moms who hides her children from the internets…  :)

Contestant #I lost track a long time ago

Amy thinks her boys can rise to the call of “cutest kid.”

She writes, “I will have to put that Samuel(2) and Calvin(6months) are a tie for the cutest in Washington state!  Plus look at all of the brotherly love!”
